Arkley - Origins-EP-Sleeve-[Low-Res].jpg
Artist: ARKLEY

New Scottish DJ and producer ARKLEY continues his unique 90s rave redux with the release of the 'Origins EP' on Bristol's Our Space records.

Lead track 'Back 2 Love (House '89)' is soaked in the spirit and sweat of the M25 orbital raves and warehouse parties of 1989's second "Summer of Love".  Analogue synth stabs and chopped-up house diva samples ride an irrepressible rhythm track all the way to a heady climax.

ARKLEY ups the tempo on the hardcore breakbeat-inspired 'Burnin' (138 Energy Mix)'.  With an infectious synth riff and pitched up vocals, the track recalls the relentless energy and rugged grooves of The Prodigy's 'Experience'.

'Sweet Feelin' rounds off the EP with a deeper 3am style Korg M1 workout.  Anthemic piano chords and peak-feeling vocals surrender to a dark and driving M1 organ bass line groove, before returning to the euphoric hook.

The 'Origins EP' was produced by ARKLEY in his home studio and mastered by Mike Marsh (The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers and Basement Jaxx).  It follows 'Rave '92 (Everybody Dancing)' (BBC Introducing "tip of the week", supported by Judge Jules) and his debut 'Music (Over & Over)', which was used on primetime BBC News to soundtrack scenes from Leeds Festival 2021.

ARKLEY has received multiple plays on BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, over 100k combined streams for his two singles to date, as well as features in DMC World, Mundane Magazine and EDM Lab.  He has also produced guest mixes for Housesessions, Harmor On Mix and Trackwolves XL.

The 'Origins EP' expands on ARKLEY's fresh and intuitive ability to reinvigorate classic 90s dance sounds to make timeless-sounding modern records.
